Morocco covers 710,850 km² at the crossroads of Europe and Africa, just 14 kilometres from Spain across the Strait of Gibraltar.
With around 37 million inhabitants and a median age of 29, it combines a young workforce with growing purchasing power. GDP growth has averaged above 3% for the past decade, driven by automotive, aerospace, agriculture and tourism.
The dirham remains one of Africa’s most stable currencies, and the Casablanca stock exchange is the second largest on the continent. Remittances from the five-million-strong diaspora exceed 10 billion euros a year — a big part of why platforms like GrowMorocco exist.
Morocco ranks first in Africa on quality-of-roads indices and operates Africa’s first high-speed train, Al Boraq, running at 320 km/h between Tangier and Casablanca.
