Twenty years ago Tangier was a sleepy port town. Today Tanger Med handles more containers than any other Mediterranean port, and the free zones around it employ over 100,000 people in automotive and aerospace manufacturing.
The city’s population has grown past 1.2 million, and property prices in districts like Malabata and Cap Spartel have followed. Yet prices per m² remain roughly half of comparable coastal cities in southern Europe.
